A powerpoint I created to help my year 8 and year 9 groups practise verb tenses before the summer exams. Year 8 (second year): present, preterite and near future year 9 (third year): present, preterite, near and simple future. this resource does not include verb endings, but tables for students to fill in and practise verb conjugations in their 6 forms (there are some common irregulars). Answers included for them to work independently and check their own answers. Ppt includes a thinking quilts activity where students will be identifying these tenses in use, as well as typical time markers to go with each tense.

This resource includes a 19 slide ppt presentation I prepared to teach the new Edexcel International GCSE 9-1. This topic is meant to be covered in year 5 (11), but I personally embedded it within the topic 2A (self, family and friends), as it’s very related to this topic. What’s included: resources for Unit 4A: Childhood, which at the same time includes activities for subsection: 4A.1cuando era pequeno/a… I have different bundles available on my profile for each textbook topic.

This bundle includes units 1 to 5 from Module 2 “En el instituto" in Mira 1. There are a range of activities to do in the classroom, worksheets, vocab tests some homework ideas, and also grammar worksheets. Ppt contains plenty of vocabulary to give opinions and talk about free time activities in their infinitive forms at length. It also includes a wide range of adjectives to describe these activities and frequency, always going beyond what the textbook offers. It does not get into verb conjugations at this stage, however it does highlight the 3 different types of infinitives to slowly raise awareness for the next sub-topic. 2 different vocab tests also included. Ppt contains plenty of vocabulary to talk about sports, how often and when and why (adjectives). This sub-unit consolidates opinions, days of the week and verb conjugations in the present tense, all covered in modules 2.1 to 2.3. It has, towards the end of the powerpoint, a section dedicated to a wide range of starter activities (odd one out, what’s missing, pyramid translation, evil tiles, find the errors, disappearing text…). It also consolidates the 3 present tense conjugations and introduces stem-changing verbs (including some practise on these).
